Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing invoices, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely payments to vendors. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of accounts payable procedures. $25-30/hr


Key Responsibilities

  • Process and verify invoices for accuracy, proper approval, and coding
  • Enter invoices into the accounting system in a timely manner
  • Prepare and execute weekly payment runs (checks, ACH, wire transfers)
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of accounts payable transactions
  • Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and inquiries
  • Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls
  • Support audits by providing necessary documentation

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • 1-3 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite, or similar)
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Knowledge of GAAP principles
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
